The History of Firm Foundation Christian Fellowship
Firm Foundation Christian Fellowship of Jesus Christ has been blessed with a powerful dynamic beginning and history. The following is a timeline of the history of the church:
In May 2002-2003, While serving the LORD and serving on active duty in the military, Pastor Quinn is ordered to a duty station in the desert of Doha, Qatar in the Middle East on a one year assignment. During this time, the LORD begins to deal with Pastor Quinn concerning the preaching and teaching of the Gospel of the Kingdom. After much prayer, consecration, and study of the Word, Pastor Quinn receives a call and mandate to preach and teach the Gospel of the Kingdom and to Minister the Word of God in True Righteousness, Holiness, Deliverance and Truth according to Ephesians 4: 21-24, Luke 4: 18 and John 8: 32.
In June 2003, He is assigned to Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida on a two-and-a-half-year unaccompanied tour again where he commits himself to a thorough and diligent study of the Bible (Word of the God and scripture).
In September of 2005, Pastor Quinn retires after serving 21 years in the U.S. Navy and returns home to Riverview, FL.
In Oct 2005, After returning home to Riverview, Pastor Quinn is led by the Holy Spirit to start a neighborhood Bible study group by faith in their home with his family, a few friends and neighbors in the Southpointe Community. While serving faithfully in a local church, they conduct this bible study group for two years in their home as the small bible study group grows!
In Oct 2007, After much prayer, Firm Foundation Christian Fellowship is birthed at the Quinn’s home in Riverview, FL. As a result, many people are saved, relationships with Christ are renewed, The Gospel is preached and the Lord begins to pour out his spirit with great grace by the power and demonstration of the Holy Spirit.
In Apr 2008, The ministry begins to grow and the Lord opens a door to evangelize the community. Firm Foundation moves to YMCA Camp Cristina on Balm Riverview Rd as the ministry begins to grow and expand as the foundation is laid.
In July 2010, the Lord opens a great door of opportunity for the ministry to expand its mission, mandate and vision, at the Balm Professional Center located at 11962 Balm Riverview Road with 2700 square feet of space. Two small medical buildings are converted into a sanctuary and powerful place of worship. As the ministry grows, people are saved, lives are changed, and greater doors are opened to reach the community for Jesus Christ!
Sep 2015 , The Lord then opens a great and effective door to move to 12001 Big Bend Road in Riverview with 8000 square feet of space and 4 acres of land for Kingdom evangelism and expansion, and to preach and teach the Gospel of the Kingdom.
Jun 2022 – After laboring in the Riverview community for 14 years, the LORD opens a door to move to the Southshore community of Ruskin via Shields Middle School, to evangelize and preach the Gospel of the Kingdom and of our LORD Jesus Christ.
May 2024 – After laboring in the Ruskin community, the LORD shifts Firm Foundation back to the Riverview community to preach the Gospel of the Kingdom, and to minister the Word of God to the Southshore community from the Southfork Lakes Community Center, where we are currently holding services.
Firm Foundation has an awesome history and is built on the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets, Jesus Christ, being the Chief Cornerstone! We are a church in the community that endeavors to fulfill the churches mandate of being the salt of the earth, and the light of the world!
We are a Church that follows the great commission of the Lord Jesus Christ who ascended to the right hand of the Father and said, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matt 18: 19-20
